Joško Vlašić

Born in Split in1956

The first and last steps of his active sporting career were made ​​at the Split Athletic Sports Club (ASA), winning around thirty Croatian champion titles within various athletic disciplines.

For a consecutive five years, from 1979 up to 1983, he was the decathlon champion of ex-Yugoslavia. He won the bronze medal in the decathlon at the Mediterranean Games in Split in 1979 and gold in the same competition in Casablanca in 1983 – a year which saw him declared as the best Croatian athlete and the best (Split) sportsman of the year. Still today, he is the current Croatian record holder in the decathlon.

Joško Vlasić graduated in 1982 at the Faculty of Physical Education of Zagreb, department in Split, after which he went onto to work as a coach at the Split Athletics Club (ASK) and various primary and secondary schools in the city, until from 1994 to 2001, he worked as a fitness coach at KK Split-Croatia Insurance Basketball Club. Since 2006, Joško has been a professional athletics trainer with the Croatian Athletics Federation.

Throughout his career, he has trained a host of athletes, some of whom have achieved significant sporting achievements: Đulijano Koludrom (Croatian record holder in the 100 metres in 1996), Jelena Kostanić, a professional tennis player (1993 to 2000), Mark Žaja (World and European Kick-boxing champion at 69 kg) Additionally, he was the long-time personal fitness coach of basketball player Nikola Vujčić, who won two titles as the club champions of Europe for Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Joško has participated as a speaker at numerous basketball seminars and worked with the Faculty of Kinesiology, delivering seminars to students orientated towards the physical training of athletes. Besides Blanka, the family project includes his youngest son Nicola, an extremely talented footballer who has trained with his father since the age of five. At the beginning of 2014, Nikola signed a professional contract with Hajduk Split FC and is also a member of the U-17 national squad.

Bojan Marinović

technical coach

Born in Split in 1970.

Bojan began his athletics training at elementary school with his professor Bozidar Šolić. After ten years of actively focusing on the high jump, he became the Croatia Senior Champion and an up and coming member of the Croatian national team.
Following the end of his professional career, in 1997 he began the role of a coach, and three years later successfully obtained professional status at the Faculty of Kinesiology in Zagreb as a senior athletics coach (level IV).

Bojan and Blanka Vlašić have worked together since 1997, when she was first introduced to the high jump technique and Bojan continues today, responsible for this area of the training schedule as part of Blanka’s trusted team. In addition to Blanka, he also trains young hopefuls at the Split Athletics Club (ASK) at the Mladeži Split Stadium.
